Guide To Complaining About A California Traffic School

California requires that all complaints against traffic schools must be in writing when filing a complaint.

Type of Complaint Use Form
Driving school or traffic violator school - OL 620
All other licenses - INV 172A

The OL 620 can; be obtained by calling the Driving School and Traffic Violator School Complaint Unit at (916) 229-3154 or by visiting your nearest DMV field office.

If a Complaint Form Is Not Available

A complaint will be accepted in letter form. However, when using a letter format please provide the following:

Provide your name, mailing address and phone number.
Who is your complaint against?
What is your complaint (please be specific)?
When did your complaint/ issue(s) occur?
Please provide any applicable time(s) and date(s).
Where did the complaint situation(s) occur?
Also, please indicate what you would like the department to do regarding your complaint.

The department does not indicate that complaints will be protected by anonymity, and they do not guarantee any kind of response or action in regard to your complaint.
